The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for assessing, planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies.

Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of Hillcrest South. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and Hillcrest South. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs.

The ED RN will deliver quality care by offering excellent customer service. All employees participate within a team centered approach towards patient care. The RN must possess exceptional communication skills, critical thinking skills, and independent decision making skills. General responsibilities include: patient assessments, holistic care involving patient families, the ability to delegate tasks, display proficiency in order entry and Meditech. The RN must also assist the department manager in staffing the department in a safe and cost effective manner. Occasional assignments outside the department may be required.

Education: Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.

Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as an R.N., preferably in the area of application. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR. ACLS required upon hire and must maintain. PALS must be obtained with in 90 day probation period if not active at hire. ENPC or NRP would be equivalent certifications for PALS. BSN Preferred.
