what does a LPN do?

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible and accountable for the practice of professional nursing, performed under the direct supervision of an RN or licensed independent practitioner. The LPN also must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide age-appropriate care, based on the assigned unit. This includes a thorough understanding of the principles of growth and development over the life span, along with the ability to collect data reflective of the patient's status. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
